Day 5 – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Oh boy, we need a break! Thankfully Animal Kingdom park closed at 5pm, so we were home by 6 and had dinner at home. We started the park with the Safari ride, you go round on Jurassic Park style safari cars and see quite a lot of animals – zebra, elephants, rhinos, hippos, gazelle, giraffe and so on. We saw cheetahs, but the lions were hiding, so we’ll do that ride another day and hopefully catch them then. They have heaps of shows at this park, the Lion King & Finding Nemo are the 2 highlights. Lion King had heaps of singing, dancing and acrobatics, and Finding Nemo was very creative. All the shows mean it’s not such a full on day as you get to sit more often. We did ‘Expedition Everest’ twice, which is a huge rollercoaster. Our kids are really a great age for this, there are several height restrictions, the highest is 48inches and Lauren is 48.5 inches, so she can go on anything she wants, which is so much easier than juggling between two groups. Michael, B & H really enjoyed the ‘Kali River Rapids’ ride, Hayley got completely drenched, Michael & Brayden not too bad, we’ve loaded a photo for you to see. Also one of a group of acrobats who did this amazing routine diving through hoops and ended all latched onto each other in the shot I’ve put on the website. Have just quickly read your emails, wonderful to hear news from Junee & how our house is going in Wagga, great about work for Suzanne. Happy Birthday to Jaimie from us! Unfortunately have to really rush, Michael has done babysitting twice to let us drive to the internet café to load this, so want to get back and relieve him. Tomorrow is MGM studios and Friday will be Epcot, both of which are very late finishes so we may not update again until we’re on the cruise. |
